The Lake Jindabyne spillway gates opened today (10 October 2011 at 10.00 am) for the first time since 1972. This video captures all the action, progressively showing the gates first opening up through to the final torrent of water racing down the newly constructed concrete spillway and beginning it’s long journey down the (temporarily mighty) Snowy River.
