A great time to visit the Snowy Mountain rivers and lakes especially waters at high altitude which may be too cold for productive fishing earlier on.

This is when the pre-spawning runs happen in the main rivers out of the lakes, namely the Eucumbene and Thredbo rivers.

The rivers close to fishing in the winter and so our attention turns to the lower lying lakes.

Springtime is often the best time of year to fish Lake Eucumbene with its renowned midge hatches and Lake Jindabyne for polaroiding along its margins.
